migraine myths, severed head, and seratonin syndrome

Migraine Awareness Month #7:  List Topper. There are lots of myths and misconceptions about Migraine. Which one tops your list as the biggest and most common? What can we do to get the truth out there?

the one which says that if you are not lying down in a darkened room you are not suffering. taking a triptan can take a huge lump out of a migraine, but you’re still having it even if you have medicated. yes, you are walking around or doing tasks, but you still feel shit and you will do for the foreseeable future.

“National Migraine Awareness Month is initiated by the National Headache Foundation. The Blogger’s Challenge is initiated by www.FightingHeadacheDisorders.com.”

  1. and feel free to delete comments after Moderating. 🙂 but the serartonin stuff scared the bejesus out of me., never knew such a thing existed, but I have a mate who may be exactly in the middle of this. . . . .

    • being on an SNRI as well as taking triptans i am a bit worried about this. a lot of the time i don’t over do the triptans even when i still take them a LOT, but sometimes things get a bit off the scale, like i might take more than one a day. that’s when i worry about it and think – time to come off for a few days no matter how bad it is.

    • thanks! it feels totally mashed now, after 2h of treatment, but ron’s saved my back from having operations, so i am just resting up.

word to the wise, spaghetti bolognaise is not the ideal food to eat lying down.
